T1 Speed for Home Offices
Featured Article by: T. A. Johnson, Sr. - Customer Relations Manager - October 13, 2008
T1 Internet Speed connections aren't just for big businesses any longer. As prices decline many home offices are opting for the more dependable T1 service over DSL. In addition, the ever increasing number of bandwidth intensive applications like ASP service, VoIP, streaming video, teleconferencing, and files with extensive graphics is increasing the demand for evermore reliable connections like T1 services. So, what is needed to get a T-1 connection in your home office?
Obtaining T1 service is not as difficult as it was just a few years ago. T1 communication products have been bundled for small businesses. Services were around $1,200 as little as three years ago. Today, a home office can find T-1 services starting at under $299! For many small businesses this is close to the price they are currently paying for commercial DSL service and their phone services. So why not switch to the much more dependable services?
Switching over to a more reliable T1 connection is not only much less expensive than a couple of years ago, the provisioning and installation process has been greatly accelerated. Providers state a minimum of 30 days to perform an installation but often can accompish it in as few as 20 days! Yet, not all companies are capable of this provisioning and installation speed. Much of the process is handled by the LEC (your local phone company) and is out of the control of your T1 service provider. With the rmuch less expensive prices and faster installation you may want to consider the switch from your current connections to a dedicated line and get big company service for a small company rate.
